Intro to Kundalini Yoga
About the workshop
Kundalini Yoga is an uplifting blend of spiritual and physical practices, it incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras, such as Sat Nam, meaning “truth is my identity.” The goal is to build physical vitality and increase consciousness.
Each class in this introduction to Kundalini yoga will first focus on physical exercises using specific breathing techniques combined with postures to work directly on strengthening the Nervous System and activating the Glandular System to stabilize our metabolism.
The second focus of each class is a meditation. Meditating is “potty training the Mind. Our Intellect was intended as a tool for our Spirit to use. In this age of sensitivity, our Spirit must prevail.
- Week #1: Breath of Life: Conscious breathing and its effect on our nerves and glands.
- Week #2: Kriya: Posture, breath, and body locks to move healing Kundalini energy to our systems.
