My name is Kate Cunningham and I have been practicing yoga for most of my life. My mom was a yoga teacher, so naturally I grew up hanging out at her yoga shala and trying out yoga asanas as a kid! With a background in competitive dance, my dedication to my yoga practice has offered me continued connection to my physical body as well as a life that is full of connection to others. I received a scholarship for my first teacher training online during 2020, which provided me a virtual community and opportunity to take my yoga practice to new heights, despite being stuck at home. I began teaching online and shifted to teaching in-person once the world permitted. Since then, I have been teaching and practicing Ashtanga and Rocket Vinyasa Yoga in Austin and around the country! With Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as the basis of my training, I have expanded to learning new styles of Vinyasa and other lineages, which has allowed me to teach many different styles of yoga to many people with varying levels of ability. My philosophy remains; practice what you teach, teach what you practice! I love sharing new movement styles with others and learning from my students. I'm thrilled to be part of the Flow Yoga community.
