About the workshop

There is power in breathing. There is power in community. The “Breathe Freely and Move” Yoga Circle balances the two to create something more - peace.
 
Breathe Freely and Move is a somatic-based Hatha yoga practice focused on mental and physical wellness. Our intention is to invite Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) to boldly take up space and gently listen in to the voice within that connects us to the intuitive wisdom of our ancestors. Through somatic, trauma-informed, movement meditation and breath work, we embody and facilitate deep, restful practices that change our physical and emotional response to stress and trauma.

About the teacher:
 
Cartelia Kennedy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and 
owner of Wellness Work Counseling Services, PLLC.
A 200-hour Trauma Informed trained Registered Yoga Instructor, and a Beginning III level
student in the SE TM Professional training. 
Cartelia uses Somatic Experiencing, Yoga
principles and other modalities to help students find healthier ways of coping with stress, traumatic past or present life experiences.
