Rey found his way to the mat to manage work stress and complement his lifting routine. What started as a physical practice quickly became an anchor for mental clarity and well-being.
In his classes, Rey guides students through intentional movement, breath, and creative flows. His classes offer a progressive build toward mindful heat and strength, leaving students feeling both grounded and energized. Rey’s teaching philosophy centers on the idea that the tools learned on the mat (such as mindfulness, resilience, and fortitude) are valuable resources for daily life. Through clear cues, he welcomes all levels, encouraging practitioners to explore the edges of their practice. Rey crafts an ethereal, atmospheric, and plucky playlist with engaging beats that allows students to simultaneously discover inner calm and physical energy.
Having lived all over the U.S. (NYC, South Florida, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island), Rey has called Austin home for the last four years. When he isn't teaching, he works in tech strategy and enjoys weightlifting, bouldering, running, and solo walks with a business or news podcast. Fun fact: Rey was an extra in a Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson movie, and no, it wasn't Wedding Crashers!

As a passionate and dedicated yoga teacher, I specialize in guiding restorative and slow flow practices that help students reconnect with their breath, body, and inner stillness. My yoga journey began in Monterrey, Mexico, my home city, where I first turned to the practice as a way to cultivate balance and self-awareness. Over time, it grew into a deep calling to hold space for others to do the same. In my classes, I focus on creating a calm, nurturing environment where students can slow down, release tension, and build a deeper mind-body connection. Whether you’re new to yoga or seeking a more grounded practice, I aim to offer an experience that feels both supportive and rejuvenating.

I came to yoga after a leg injury limited my ability to continue dancing, and it quickly became a space where I rediscovered my breath and authentic movement in a new way. I completed my first YTT in 2018 and since then I’ve been devoted to sharing this practice with everyone who steps into my class. I’ve had the privilege of attending retreats, workshops, and continued study throughout Southeast Asia and Costa Rica, all of which have shaped the teacher I am today. My style is rooted in genuine expression, dynamic movement, and self-compassion.
I’m continuously inspired by how our bodies move through space. My classes draw from both Vinyasa and Ashtanga, blended with an easygoing, playful twist. Students often tell me I offer soft yet “sneaky spicy” flows with creative transitions and plenty of room for exploration and play. Above all, I aim to create a safe, welcoming space where yogis can move freely and confidently, exactly as they are. Each class is designed to be approachable and adaptable, meeting students where they’re at while encouraging a deeper connection between mind and body. I can't wait to see you on your mat :)
