at 3rd EyePlease join sound ceremony facilitators Madeleine Tilin and Jon Gordon for a 75 minute sound journey where we’ll offer a contemplative space to experience the practice of deep listening. Step into this sound story, immerse yourself in the subtle vibrations of voices and instrumentation, and be enchanted by the capacity of sound to take you into a deep state of wonder, peace and wholeness.
You can expect to hear the sounds of instruments such as the gong, guitar, hand pan, drums, harmonium, crystal bowls and voice.
Madeleine brings 30 years of yogic practice and teaching into her sound work, alongside a lifelong relationship with music. These sound journeys are not performances, but shared listening experiences in vibration and resonance to support nervous system regulation and healing.
Over the last decade, Jon has been on a path of spiritual study combining Tibetan Buddhist meditation, yoga, and shamanic healing. Jon brings 20+ years playing guitar into his practice and strongly believes in the practice of deep listening meditation as a way of cultivating greater presence and coherence in our daily lives.
Jon and Madeleine bring collective passion, inquiry and a sense of exploration to the rich tapestry of this sound journey. Both recently completed a sound healing training in Guatemala, where they studied the science of sound healing and the power of mantra, toning and deep listening.
For this session, the body will be resting on the floor while the listening remains awake and attentive.
Comfortable clothing is advised, and an eye mask is recommended to help turn attention inward.
Madeleine Tilin brings 29 years of her love affair with the yogic path — as a teacher and student— to her students. She is passionate about helping others find ways to live with a sense of embodied and grounded joy. Her extensive yogic knowledge draws on various forms of vinyasa informed sequencing and kundalini informed meditation, kriya, mantra and pranayama techniques. Her passion for yogic philosophy and mantra will infuse her kundalini and hatha yoga classes at Flow. As photographer and writer, she offers a unique perspective when speaking to the physical, spiritual, symbolic and creative aspects of life on and off the mat.
Madeleine has countless hours (1000+) in many aspects of yogic training. Studies include: 300- hour KRI certified through Yoga Yoga, Austin, 1-year Immense Grace Women’s Kundalini Leadership program, Ra Ma Institute Los Angeles; 360 hours with Radiant Body Yoga certification with Kia Miller (including in-depth mantra, sadhana immersion and teacher training). She completed teacher trainings with Tias Little of Prajna Yoga, John Friend of Anusara yoga, and countless other shorter, but no less significant, areas of yogic study. She's taught yoga since the 1990’s in Austin, Santa Fe, Berkeley and Oakland — but took a significant break while parenting her now college aged children to focus on family, her photography business and deepening her own yogic studies.
Creator of the Soul Shift Program, she hosts Soul Shift yoga and creativity retreats and offers private yoga and spiritual coaching sessions.
