Join us for a heart-opening evening of Bhakti Yoga as we gather in community to honor Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of Lord Hanuman — the embodiment of strength, devotion, and selfless service. This special event will center around singing the Hanuman Chalisa 108 times as an offering of love and devotion.
Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of devotion — a path of surrender, love, and connection with the divine through heartfelt expression. Unlike other forms of yoga that emphasize the body or mind, Bhakti is about softening the heart. Through kirtan (call-and-response chanting) and mantra (sacred sound), we cultivate inner peace, compassion, and a direct relationship with the divine.
The number 108 is sacred across many spiritual traditions. In yoga and mantra practice, it symbolizes wholeness and the universe itself:
1 represents the divine or highest truth.
0 represents emptiness or completeness.
8 represents infinity or eternity. By chanting the Hanuman Chalisa 108 times, we amplify the power of our devotion and open ourselves to deep spiritual transformation.
Guided Kirtan to sing the Hanuman Chalisa 108 times (don't worry, no experience is needed!)
A warm, welcoming atmosphere where you may come and go as you need
A community potluck happening during the event, offered as Prasad (blessed food shared in devotion)
Space to sing, meditate, or simply listen and absorb
Yourself, exactly as you are — no singing or yoga experience is required
A cushion, blanket, or mat for comfortable seating
A dish to share for the potluck (optional, but welcome)
An open heart and a spirit of community
Come for one chant, or stay for them all — your presence is the offering. Together, we'll create a space of devotion, joy, and collective energy.
