Yoga Teacher Training: Flow Yoga 200hr Teacher Training

Sep 6, 2025

In yoga, we are all lifelong students. I'm sure you've heard it before, and I guarantee you will hear it again - it's a common theme throughout the yoga journey, and one of the golden nuggets that makes it so special. There is always something new to learn, whether it be about posture, balance or simply yourself. The most seasoned practitioner is as much a student as the nervous yogi that just purchased their first mat. And, one of the best ways to learn more about your own practice is to share it with others.

Through our Yoga Teacher Training, we provide a robust and comprehensive training, registered with Yoga Alliance that gives you the tools to safely, and confidently, create and teach Hatha and Vinyasa style yoga classes. Created in partnership with an experienced instructional designer, we crafted our program to put the student first, and our intention is to nourish your love for yoga, while also setting a strong, educational foundation to further your yoga career and practice. It's #YogaForYall, y'all.

The training runs from:

Sep 6 - Dec 14, 2025

What you'll learn in this yoga teacher training

This Training is both for those wanting to dive deeper into their practice, as well as those whom wish to teach to others. You don't need to be flexible or be able to hold fancy poses to qualify - come one, come all!

Let’s go with the #flow.

Humanities

Yoga is an ancient practice with a long, compelling history. As a teacher, it's important to know what you are teaching and understand where it comes from. Background knowledge allows you to properly share the sacred art, with purpose and intention, and it's also really cool! There is much to learn about real-world application of the key, philosophical texts, asanas and rituals. After a year like 2020, I think we collectively learned a little bit more about the importance of human connection. Our yoga teacher training allows you to link with a community of like-minded yogis to enhance your passion, dive deeper into personal growth and reach a broader range of students. As you grow and learn, you have endless love and support from this shared, sacred, safe place.

Anatomy & Physiology

We intend to provide you a firm understanding of the human body's anatomy - its practical application to asana - so you can practice and teach with greater confidence, skill and knowledge. Yoga gets a lot cooler when you understand the foundational aspects of your body, the literal breath and bone, that allow you to hold a pose for 5 breaths, move from strain to ease, and tap into each posture's full potential.

Techniques & Practice

We'll teach you the art of peak pose sequencing, which will empower you to craft safe, smart and creative classes. Through our training, you'll deepen your own mental well-being by learning to practice, and teach, key meditation and pranayama techniques. We have dedicated journaling time, sequences to dissect and understand, structured practicums and practice-teaching that will radically deepen your personal practice and elevate your teaching. Koshas… chakras… vayus… you'll fully understand what each of these are, where they stem from and learn more about yourself through these subtle body systems.

Yoga teacher training host Zainab Z. at Flow Yoga

Zainab Z.

Zainab Zakari has been teaching flow yoga for nearly 15 years and has crafted and led workshops, immersions, teacher training and international retreats. Her teaching passions include peeling back the layers from the outermost physical to the innermost soulful to reconnect to the heart’s voice within. Zainab’s flow classes offer multi-layers—from the physical and the mental to the creative and the sacred. She aims to meet students wherever they are on their journey, and she is not above-using humor, movie references, dance, poetry, sports, geometry, physics or practical magic to do it. Anchored by insights from her teachers, Zainab encourages students to build their awareness for alignment in living flow, a curiosity when approaching new experiences, and a kind, patient witness to whatever unfolds on and off the mat. Students will be invited and *sweetly* challenged to breathe, to move, to listen and to trust their inner guide. They will be invited to (re)connect to their Soul.
Zainab first formally studied Hatha Yoga with Lisa Bennett and Charles Matkin in New York City. She acquired her advanced certification in Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga, founded by Shiva Rea. Additionally, she weaves in artful, playful sequencing as she learned from Lotus Flow Vinyasa teachers Kate Duyn and Jasmine Tarkeshi. Her continuing education includes studies with Michelle C. Johnson and others who focus on social justice as it intersects with our collective wellness to intentionally cultivate inclusive and welcoming spaces. As a student of life and a biracial woman, Zainab is committed to cultivating brave spaces where truth and mutual respect lead to long-lasting, uplifting change for all beings.
