Shake It Off! A Nia + Yoga Nidra Experience to Clear, Reset, and Reclaim Your Joy
What’s weighing you down lately—stress, self-doubt, sticky emotions, or just the speed of life? This season, take a cue from nature and shake it off. Literally.

Join Joanie for a dynamic class that blends the empowering movement of Nia with the deep rest of Yoga Nidra—designed to help you release what no longer serves you and make space for what’s next.

We’ll begin with a grounding shaking meditation, then flow into a playful, heart-pumping Nia class to awaken your body, clear stuck energy, and connect with joy. We'll wrap up with a nourishing 30-minute Yoga Nidra (guided rest meditation) to anchor your intentions and leave you feeling light, steady, and renewed.

Shaking is medicine. It supports your physical, emotional, energetic, and mental well-being—helping release stress, regulate your nervous system, and clear old patterns so you can return to a happier, more balanced YOU.

What is Nia? Nia is a barefoot movement practice that blends martial arts, dance, and healing arts into one joyful, expressive class.

What to Expect:

Breath-led movement to energize and release tension
A mix of structure and freeform play—no experience needed
Sensation-based cueing so you can move in ways that feel good for your body
A full-body reset that supports your nervous system and uplifts your mood
All bodies and levels welcome. No dance or martial arts background needed. Just come as you are, wear comfy clothes, and bring water.

FAQ

Yoga helps with joint health like a well-oiled machine, keeping your joints flexible and lubricated. It can help improve range of motion, reduce stiffness and inflammation, and prevent joint injuries. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than getting a tune-up at the mechanic's shop.

Yoga helps with digestion like a gentle massage, helping your body process food more effectively. It can help improve blood flow to the digestive organs, reduce bloating and constipation, and promote overall digestive health. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than getting a stomach ache.

Yoga helps with mindfulness like a GPS for your mind, guiding you towards the present moment. It can help you learn to focus your attention, reduce distractions, and increase self-awareness. Plus, it's a lot more relaxing than listening to a robotic voice telling you where to turn.

Another misconception is that yoga is just about stretching, but it's like saying a car is just about the wheels. Yoga is a holistic practice that includes breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness, all of which can have profound effects on the mind and body.
