Clarissa P., yoga teacher at Flow Yoga

Clarissa P.

Clarissa has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. What began as a recommendation from her physical therapist to help with scoliosis, coupled with an internal desire for intentional, mindful movement, blossomed into a lifelong, infinitely unfolding practice. Along the way, she has grown as a student and teacher, absorbing knowledge over the years from her mentors in diverse disciplines across the country. A musician and physical fitness practitioner with a well-rounded background in science and art, Clarissa takes a similar holistic approach to her teaching, weaving therapeutic movement, strength building, adaptations and modifications, anatomy, breath work, yogic philosophy, mindfulness, and good music + sound into her classes.
Whether she’s teaching hot vinyasa or yin and sound, she intends for all students to leave her classes feeling nurtured, with a greater sense of solace, awareness, strength, and unity between the mind, body, breath, and spirit. When she’s not teaching yoga or offering private lessons, she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, nurturing many house plants, swimming and any water activities, weight lifting, cooking, reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her partner, Ryan, and dog, Bodhi.

Deep Chill combines gentle movement with deep relaxation to help you release tension and find calm. This class starts with slow, easy stretches to work out stiffness, then transitions to restful positions. By staying low to the ground and holding poses longer, you facilitate a gentle myofascial release, helping to ease tension in the body's connective tissues while quieting the nervous system. Slow and low to the ground make it easy for people at any level, leaving you feeling grounded and refreshed.   Read class details
