Vinyasa yoga is a creative form of yoga. Yoga poses are linked together with the breath in a flowing sequence. Expect to move, sometimes vigorously, from pose to pose. This practice stimulates and energizes the mind and body through asanas (poses), with focus on the breath. This class will help you to build strength, increase endurance, create flexibility, and release tension. If you appreciate having things a little loose and like to keep moving, this style is definitely worth a try.

Flow +Chill: Yoga means union, and also union of opposites...effort and ease, strength and flexibility. To find balance in the body, we need both movement and stillness. Flow +Chill is a combination class, starting with a slower paced vinyasa, followed by restorative poses (supported by props). We will flow for half of class to warm the body up, then take the second part of class to stretch, release tension and dive into a deeper state of chill.

I have been coming here for about six months, off and on, but consistent on Fridays at 9 with Selena. I was skeptical at first, since it was a level 3 class and to be honest, I'm like a brick and not that flexible. I met her and she assured me that it was challenging but I would be okay. As a hardcore weightlifter, I have been doing yoga off and on for fifteen years and I can honestly say that Selena is one of the best instructors I have ever had. First of all, she really pushes me to new limits. Nothing scary, just that extra push we all need at times. Second, my arms are 16 inches around and there is no way in hell I can cross my elbows. I asked her about this (because she loves feedback), and the next week she told me she met with a friend at Stretchzone and he told her somethings I could do to get more flexibility. Now, before class starts she usually talks to me and tells me what poses will be done and gives me a variation on how I can do them. You really just don't get that level of service at most places. I'm not a Yogi, or whatever, I am Selena's student and I really appreciate how much her classes have helped when I am in the gym with strength and opening up my range of motion, which has pushed my strength to new limits. Don't be afraid to take her class, be excited. You will not regret it.

Flow Yoga- North Loop is a true gem! The community is wonderfully down-to-earth and welcoming, making it easy to feel at home. With excellent teachers and a calm atmosphere, every class is a rejuvenating experience that inspires growth and connection. The Vinyasa classes challenge and grow, both your physical and mental strength.

Flow yoga is truly made for yoga, rather than the yoga-influenced fitness classes so many other studios offer. No matter what style you love, you can find an instructor and class. I love creative vinyasa so Jacq’s classes have been a perfect fit!

Everyone is so kind at the Westgate studio. It's always clean, inviting, and smells great too. I like that they provide free yoga mats to borrow, hot tea in the lounge area and ample cubbies for storage. It truly feel like a judgement free zone.

Love this studio! The classes are challenging but not crazy intense like I've experienced at other studios.

This place is so special. It’s such a serene sms tranquil space you forget almost that you’re in Austin or when a plaza. They have everything here from meditation and yoga classes to night events of ecstatic dance and sound baths. So honored to be able to be a part of this space.

I recently moved to Austin from Hawaii and wanted to find a yoga community. I am certified in Hatha Yoga through the Chopra Center, so I tried to find teachers acquainted with Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. I bought the 30-day pass, and I love flow yoga. The teachers come from a place of love, compassion, and knowledge. The warm tea is perfect after a class or between classes. The studio is warm and welcoming. I feel like I am home. I love that they have cacao.

I’ve been attending Flow Yoga at the Westgate location and have had an amazing experience. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient, and kind, making every class enjoyable and accessible for all levels. I especially appreciate the variety of class times, which fit perfectly into my schedule, and the ease of online booking and check-in. It’s so convenient! The atmosphere is calming. If you live in South Austin, I highly recommend this studio—it’s the perfect place to unwind, stretch, and find inner balance. Truly grateful for this wonderful community!

FAQ

Yoga helps with pregnancy like a prenatal vitamin, providing nourishment and support for both mother and baby. It can help you prepare for childbirth, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve overall well-being. Plus, it's a lot more fun than swallowing a giant pill.

Yoga helps with focus and concentration like a laser beam, helping you hone in on the task at hand. It can help improve mental clarity, reduce distractions, and increase productivity. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than staring at a computer screen all day.

Absolutely! Yoga is like a birthing coach for your body. It can help improve your strength, flexibility, and endurance, all of which can come in handy during labor. Plus, the focus on breath control can help you stay calm and focused during contractions.

Yoga helps with vitality like a shot of espresso, only without the jitters and crash. It can help improve circulation, boost energy levels, and reduce fatigue. Plus, it's a lot more relaxing than chugging caffeine.

There are many different types of yoga, each with their own focus and approach. Some of the most common include:

  • Ashtanga: a dynamic and physically demanding practice
  • Bikram: a series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, practiced in a heated room
  • Iyengar: a meticulous style that emphasizes proper alignment and the use of props
  • Kundalini: a spiritual practice that involves chanting, meditation, and dynamic movement
  • Restorative: a gentle practice that uses props to support the body in passive postures.
