What to expect

Flow classes are intended to provide a middle ground for the Yang practices. Blending elements of vinyasa and hatha, flowing and holding, while also allowing for creative interpretation individual to each of your incredible Flow Instructors.

Flow is slower paced than your vinyasa classes but faster and more succinct than a Hatha practice. Classes will have elements of flowing sequences as well as extended holds so that practitioners can get aspects of expression and structure in a balanced and all levels friendly container. The degree to which each element is present will be individual to the teacher but regardless this class is inclusive to all.

The main goal of this style of yoga is to create a state of calmness and balance while finding strength. You can also perform it as a form of moving meditation. It helps bring the body into a state of deep relaxation and mindfulness by working with the breath and practicing mindful movements and holds in a slow and gentle manner.

As we step into a new year, the impulse to set ambitious goals and dive into action is strong. Yet, this drive often misaligns with the natural rhythms of winter—a season that calls us to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. This month's Somatic Workshop invites you to honor this sacred stillness, offering a transformative space to connect with your body, clarify your values, and craft a vision rooted in authenticity. Each session includes personalized one-on-one moments with Katie in a supportive group setting, where somatic practices help release stored tension and awaken the body’s innate wisdom. Together, we’ll explore how your core values serve as a guiding compass, aligning your choices with your true self. Using reflective exercises and insights from neuroscience, you’ll learn to harness the power of visualization, training your subconscious to recognize opportunities and bring your vision to life.To deepen this transformative work, join our Monthly Somatic Breathwork Event. This practice helps integrate the insights from the workshop, fostering a profound connection between mind, body, and spirit.Whether you’re beginning your journey or seeking to deepen your practice, this is a safe, nurturing space for self-discovery, growth, and embodied living. Yoga means union, and also union of opposites...effort and ease, strength and flexibility. To find balance in the body, we need both movement and stillness. Flow +Chill is a combination class, starting with a slower paced vinyasa, followed by restorative poses (supported by props). We will flow for half of class to warm the body up, then take the second part of class to stretch, release tension and dive into a deeper state of chill.

One of the most popular yoga myths is the belief that you need to be flexible before ever setting foot on a mat. The truth is, flexibility isn’t a prerequisite. In fact, a regular yoga practice will actually help you become more flexible over time. Increased flexibility can help decrease the risk of injuries, create a better range of motion of joints, lengthen muscles, improve balance and overall health!Flexibility + mobility is a fun, judgment-free space, suitable for all levels. In this class we will work on different muscle groups and joints each week, using yoga, mobility, and stability techniques as well as Myofascial release to improve range of motion and flexibility. Props such as straps, bolsters, blocks, and tennis balls will be used to target specific areas and help ease your body into the poses and stretches. Modifications and options will be offered throughout the class.

As soon as I walked in this amazing studio I felt welcomed and super excited to be part of this community. I love the intimate setting of the studio, and the waiting area is made to be comfortable enough to enjoy complimentary warm tea while reading or visiting with others. I like the Variety of classes offered weekly and the upcoming Events happening on the weekends in studio! If your up for an adventure you can sign up for one of the yoga Retreats they offer throughout the year. I'm looking forward to my first yoga retreat in the beautiful Hill Country. The instructors are good at making you feel comfortable and make it easy for you to go at your own pace. Steff the owner and Jenny the Manager are Great at answering any questions you have about any classes or retreats. They have been so helpful and have made me feel part of this community.

I just love this yoga studio! I've been to Tylee and Katie's morning classes and I just love them both. The heated vinyasa is warm but not too hot. The teachers, staff, and other members are all so friendly and kind. I'm so glad we have this studio in Georgetown now!

New to GTX but not new to yoga!! I had a hard time finding a yoga studio that was convenient, one that offered the classes that I wanted, and that I actually liked! So far I have been really happy with the instructors that I’ve had classes with!! The studio is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable! If you’re new or old to yoga and are looking for a studio I’d recommend giving them a try!

5 star rating Jami O. 5 star review for Georgetown January 30, 2025

I've been looking for a yoga studio to call home since I moved to Georgetown in 2023, I was hopeful when Flow Yoga opened and they did not disappoint. There's class times that work with different schedules. The teachers are attentive and will offer modifications to make poses more accessible or more challenging. The studio is a beautiful space that is clean and well maintained.
