What to expect

Chill classes are intended to provide a middle ground of sorts between your Yin practices. Blending elements of restorative and yin, support and gradual stress over time, while also placing emphasis on a deeply relaxing overtone and creative interpretation individual to each of your incredible Flow Instructors.

A relaxing atmosphere and good vibes can be expected in every chill experience. Classes will contain elements of gentle and yin so students are encouraged to use as many props as they desire. Blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps and more are often used in these practices. This class moves slowly and focuses on gaining awareness of the breath and the connection between mind, body, and spirit, easing into gentle stretching and movement through poses that use gravity and body weight on the mat to engage the parasympathetic nervous system for rest and relaxation. Some elements of breathwork and/or sound healing may also be present at times.

One of the most popular yoga myths is the belief that you need to be flexible before ever setting foot on a mat. The truth is, flexibility isn’t a prerequisite. In fact, a regular yoga practice will actually help you become more flexible over time. Increased flexibility can help decrease the risk of injuries, create a better range of motion of joints, lengthen muscles, improve balance and overall health!Flexibility + mobility is a fun, judgment-free space, suitable for all levels. In this class we will work on different muscle groups and joints each week, using Functional movements, CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations), Kinstretch techniques as well as Myofascial release to improve range of motion and flexibility. Props such as straps, bolsters, blocks, and tennis balls will be used to target specific areas and help ease your body into the poses and stretches. Modifications and options will be offered throughout the class.

Yin is a slow, mindful practice that targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia. Working with the energetic systems of the body, Yin Yoga brings the body into balance, and improves its natural range of motion. Most poses are done while seated or lying down supported by the use of props, and are held in stillness for several minutes. As we move into stillness, we bring body, breath and soul into harmony. It’s a perfect complement to physical yoga practice. You will leave class feeling refreshed, renewed and restored.

Great selection of classes, amazing instructors, welcoming vibe!

5 star rating bailey b. 5 star review for Flow Yoga Westgate February 27, 2025

I’ve been attending this yoga studio for the past month. There is a great variety of class times and options to choose from, ensuring I can easily fit in a session. I also love that they offer classes seven days a week, so I never have to worry about missing out. What I've really appreciated during my first month was access to all locations in Austin. I’ve primarily attended the Westgate location, and it’s been fantastic. The studio has a welcoming, spacious, and homey vibe that makes it easy to feel relaxed as soon as I step inside. It’s beautifully designed and creates such a calm environment. I’ve been especially enjoying the Flexibility + Mobility class with Meg Kokavai. As a massage therapist, Meg’s deep understanding of anatomy really shines through in the way she explains movements—it's all very accessible and easy to follow. It’s clear that she is passionate about helping students move in ways that are both safe and effective. If you’re looking for a studio that offers a great variety of classes, top-notch instructors, and a welcoming, supportive environment, this is the place! Highly recommend!

This is a proper yoga studio! In the age of performative spirituality and competitive mindsets, the teachers at Flow Yoga bring grounded, authentic, creative, and healing energy to every class. My favorite class is Meg's Sunday morning Mobility & Flexibility class but I'll also do anything taught by JJ Pepper.
