Flexibility + Mobility At Flow Yoga Westgate with JJ P.

One of the most popular yoga myths is the belief that you need to be flexible before ever setting foot on a mat. The truth is, flexibility isn’t a prerequisite. In fact, a regular yoga practice will actually help you become more flexible over time. Increased flexibility can help decrease the risk of injuries, create a better range of motion of joints, lengthen muscles, improve balance and overall health!
Flexibility + mobility is a fun, judgment-free space, suitable for all levels. In this class we will work on different muscle groups and joints each week, using Functional movements, CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations), Kinstretch techniques as well as Myofascial release to improve range of motion and flexibility.

Props such as straps, bolsters, blocks, and tennis balls will be used to target specific areas and help ease your body into the poses and stretches.

Modifications and options will be offered throughout the class.

Yin Yoga in Westgate Austin Texas on 2025-04-26 at 1:30 - 2:30pm Yin yoga details

intensity   with Angie K.

Yin is a slow, mindful practice that targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia. Working with the energetic systems of the body, Yin Yoga brings the body into balance, and improves its natural range of motion. Most poses are done while seated or lying down supported by the use of props, and are held in stillness for several minutes. As we move into stillness, we bring body, breath and soul into harmony. It’s a perfect complement to physical yoga practice. You will leave class feeling refreshed, renewed and restored.Read class details

I recently did the trial membership and will definitely be converting to a regular membership. The classes are all very approachable, the teacher’s knowledgeable and friendly, and your membership lets you go to any of the locations, which gives me options at home or work. Great classes, great vibe 10/10 recommend.

I can't believe I've lived in Austin for so long without discovering Flow Yoga. I love this studio, the staff, the instructors, the clients. Everyone I've come into contact with have been open, warm and welcoming. The Ra studio is light, airy and large. I like the built in stage and when the instructor uses it, it helps that everyone in the class can see them. I like that the instructors can be hands on as being manipulated into the correct postures is a key to understanding and practicing to your best ability. I would highly recommend anyone to give this wonderfully inclusive, spiritual studio a try. I'm also excited to be taking my first teacher training class here with Angie. I've been waiting for years to find the right course. I hope its everything I have been waiting for.

Great range of classes and the events on the weekend makes this studio different from others and help foster community. The space inside is very beautiful and smells nice. It’s affordable and I even found a great masseuse who works from a beautiful room there. They always have mats to borrow for free if you forget yours. Sometimes there are some technical glitches on the mindbody app where it won’t allow you to sign up for weekend or one-time events, but if you come to the studio you can sign in easily there.

FAQ

Yoga is like a natural pain reliever. It can help reduce chronic pain by improving flexibility, strength, and posture. Plus, the focus on mindfulness can help you manage pain by changing your relationship to it.

Yoga is like a supportive friend for your recovery. It can help with addiction recovery by reducing stress, improving self-awareness, and teaching you to cope with difficult emotions. Plus, it's a lot more fun than sitting in a support group all day.

Yoga helps with posture like a tailor, making sure everything fits just right. It can help improve alignment, strengthen core muscles, and increase body awareness. Plus, it's a lot more fun than standing in front of a mirror with a measuring tape.

A typical yoga class is like a good movie - it lasts long enough to tell a story, but not so long that you start to nod off. Most classes run between 60-90 minutes, but there are also shorter and longer options available, depending on your schedule and attention span.

How often you practice yoga is like how often you brush your teeth. Ideally, you should aim for at least 3-5 times a week for optimal benefits, but even once a week is better than nothing. Just like brushing your teeth, the more you do it, the better you'll feel. And trust me, nobody likes a smelly yogi.
