Yin is a slow, mindful practice that targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia. Working with the energetic systems of the body, Yin Yoga brings the body into balance, and improves its natural range of motion. Most poses are done while seated or lying down supported by the use of props, and are held in stillness for several minutes. As we move into stillness, we bring body, breath and soul into harmony. It’s a perfect complement to physical yoga practice. You will leave class feeling refreshed, renewed and restored.

Yoga means union, and also union of opposites...effort and ease, strength and flexibility. To find balance in the body, we need both movement and stillness. Flow +Chill is a combination class, starting with a slower paced vinyasa, followed by restorative poses (supported by props). We will flow for half of class to warm the body up, then take the second part of class to stretch, release tension and dive into a deeper state of chill. Some classes might include sound healing, breathwork or meditation.

I have been very pleased to reconnect with my yoga practice through Flow Yoga. The variety of classes and instructors that are available make it very accommodating to find just what I need. Although I am limited in my abilities, no one makes me feel like I don’t belong! If there were anything I would like to see different, it would be for them to replace the bolsters with new ones. I’m very grateful to have this wonderful studio available to me!

Flow Yoga is an amazing yoga resource for people in Austin, and I love the Westgate studio the most. It's a great location with a lot of variety of classes to choose from. The instructors are all skilled and engaging, and it feels like an intimate experience every class. As someone who only did vinyasa before joining Flow, I've loved learning Hatha, flexibility + mobility and more - there is something for everyone here!

This place is amazing and so value to my personal practice and life. I appreciate the range of intensity they have for their classes as well as the range of type of classes from yoga to meditation to sound baths across all their studios. And their studios are an incredible vibe. I love spending time in their lounge drinking the chai they always have available. This place has become a second home to me and I enjoy it so much.

I just started Flow Yoga a few weeks ago. It is my favorite studio! It is a beautiful place with big windows and plants. The classes are not overcrowded so there is room to move. The instructors are so kind and encouraging. I go to classes about 3 times/week and look forward to each one. So happy to be here!!!

FAQ

Yoga is like a chill pill for your mind and body. It activates the relaxation response, which helps lower stress and anxiety. Plus, the gentle stretching and deep breathing can help you unwind and let go of tension.

Yoga is like a circus performer for your body. It can help improve your balance and coordination by strengthening your muscles, improving your proprioception, and teaching you to move your body in sync with your breath. Plus, it's a lot more fun than juggling all day.

Yoga helps with mental clarity like a pair of glasses, helping you see things more clearly. It can help you learn to quiet the mind, reduce mental clutter, and increase focus and concentration. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than wearing glasses.

Yoga helps with flexibility like a ballet dancer, helping you move gracefully and fluidly. It can help improve posture, increase range of motion, and reduce the risk of injuries. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than trying to pirouette in a tutu.

Yin and yang yoga are like the yin and yang of the yoga world - they balance each other out. Yin yoga is slow and passive, focusing on deep stretching and relaxation, while yang yoga is more active and dynamic, focusing on building strength and heat.
