Authentic Relating
Fri Nov 6 at 7pm
Join us each month for a Sunday afternoon designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and reset. Each month we'll explore a different yoga philosophy or theme, discovering simple, practical ways to weave these teachings into both our practice and our daily lives.
We'll begin with a short discussion and reflection on the month's theme, followed by a 30-minute all-levels Hatha practice and 45 minutes of nourishing Yin & Restorative Yoga, giving your body and mind the time to soften, recharge, and reset.
Whether you're looking to deepen your understanding of yoga, enjoy a slower-paced practice, or simply carve out time for yourself, this monthly Mini Yoga Retreat is a chance to give yourself a little extra care, reconnect, and return to the week feeling more grounded and refreshed.
Each Mini Retreat Includes:
A different yoga philosophy or theme each month
Guided reflection and discussion
30 minutes of all-levels Hatha Yoga
45 minutes of Yin & Restorative Yoga
Time for community, connection, and deep rest
No yoga experience is needed. Bring a journal and pen for reflection, and come ready to slow down and fill back up.
The etiquette for a yoga class is pretty simple - just be respectful of your fellow yogis, don't hog the space, and try not to fart during savasana. Oh, and remember to turn off your phone - nobody wants to hear your latest TikTok during their downward dog.
Breathing in yoga is like the fuel that powers your practice - it keeps you going and helps you get the most out of each pose. It also helps you stay calm and focused, and can even enhance the physical benefits of the poses.
Yoga is like a peaceful hike in the woods, while Pilates is like a high-intensity workout at the gym. Both practices can improve strength, flexibility, and posture, but yoga has a more spiritual and meditative focus, while Pilates is more focused on core strength and control.
Props are like the supporting cast in a yoga class - they help you get into the right position and provide support when needed. Think of them as your trusty sidekicks on your yoga journey.
Yoga helps with lung capacity like a deep breath of fresh air, expanding your lungs and increasing your oxygen intake. It can help improve respiratory function, increase lung capacity, and reduce symptoms of asthma and other respiratory conditions. Plus, it's a lot more enjoyable than huffing and puffing on a treadmill.
